There were thousands of reviews and none of them were helpful, so I'm writing everything I know about this device so that you don't have to read another review.
*For those who don't know about the brand, Honor is a sub-brand of Huawei who are currently the 3rd largest mobile brand in the world.
*The Honor 7X brings this feature to the more affordable X series, making it accessible to a lot more people.
*One look at the spec sheet and it is evident that Honor has loaded this phone up with loads of features.
Design-
*We like smartphones with big displays, and the Honor 7X ticks this box.
*By far the Honor 7X’s biggest selling point is its all-screen design. Which is pretty cool.
*The device sports curved edges and sloping 2.5D glass.
*It has a Micro USB port which sits right where a more modern USB-C port ought to be.
*Honor has used a metal unibody for this smartphone which gives it that premium look and feel.
*Just like most of the honor phones, the fingerprint scanner on the 7X is at the back.
*I found it easy to reach and it was quick to unlock the phone in my experience.
*It's pretty much the same design that we see in smartphones these days. Nothing really great about it.
Performance-
*It comes with the HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor.
*The phone is capable of handling multitasking as well as day-to-day tasks.
*The battery will easily last a day with moderate to heavy usage.
*On a daily basis, I watched videos, played games, used social media, messaging apps, made calls as well as listened to music online.
*The sound quality through headphones is average.
*It doesn't heat up very fast.
Camera-
*Honor 7x features a 16-megapixel main shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, paired with a 2-megapixel secondary lens to aid in taking portraits.
*The camera functions are quite similar to that of the Honor 9i or the other Honor phones which comes in the 20k range.
*It does not fail when it comes to camera department.
*I'm impressed by the camera quality of this 15k price range phone.
*The photos clicked with rear camera are crisp, detailed and color reproduction is impressive. In bright outdoors, depth of field effect on both the front and rear cameras can produce some great results.
*Attaching a few pictures clicked with the phone.
Operating System-
*It's coming with Honor's on Operating system EMUI with Android Nougat.
*EMUI, as always, feels like a low-rent mash-up of Android and iOS. But it’s not a complete write-off by any means.
*I personally didn't like the look and prefer stock android.
*The phone already got a major update from Nougat to Oreo.
*It keeps getting Google patch security updates every 2,3 months, which is good for a phone of this price range. Kudos Honor.
*The face unlock works almost all the time other than at night.
Battery-
*It doesn't support quick charging.
*It takes almost 2.5 hours to full charge.
*Inside the Honor 7X is a 3,340-mAh battery that the company promises can deliver a little less than a day and a half of life on a charge.
*On my usage I get around 1 day of charge with pretty good usage.
Overall Verdict-
*No 10-15k smartphone is perfect, but the Honor 7X is a jack of all trades, not a perfectionist.
*It's arguably the best balance of design, performance, and features in its class, even if its rivals do certain things a little better.
*With the Honor 7X, the X series has been brought up to date with the latest trends.
*You get a big display with the 18:9 aspect ratio and powerful hardware which should keep you happy.
*A big Thumbs Up to Honor for bringing good competition in this price range to India.
*The value for money pricing offered by Honor sure gives a tight competition to everyone out there.
*If you've any queries regarding the product feel free to contact me. Happy to help in any way possible. Your appreciation is very much accepted, it'll motivate me a lot in writing more reviews like this in the future.
